Breakfast

Breakfast

I am new to airbnb, I assumed that I had to include breakfast. The first lady I had stayed two nights, the first morning she only wanted a piece of toast and a cup of tea. I have a gentleman staying next and I asked if he wanted breakfast and he said he usually has Natural Greek Yogart and Assam tea, is it reasonable to expect to supply this?

It depends on what you say in your listing. If you live in an area where there are not many restaurants/cafes then think about basic items - but you are not obligated to provide breakfast. If you go down the route of asking people what they want for breakfast then you will increase your costs. We say: juice, tea/coffee/cereal,/bagels and yohurt. If they want more than that they are welcome to buy what they wish and add it to the table.

You don't have  to include breakfast, but it is a nice touch.

We are a tad remote so we do breakfast.IMG_1931.JPG

I have saved your AirBNB location to my wishlist!  Hopefully someday I can enjoy this breakfast at your lovely home!

That is a beautiful breakfast. We have several listings and do include breakfast in one of them. We stand on our head to make many options available to our guests, but if we ask them, they usually say anything will do or they ask for something we do not serve. I think it is better to just serve breakfast as  a variety of small items and let them choose what they want. Several of our guests eat some thing of everything we serve, and that is alright with us.

I'm packing my bags for your place!!

Hi Iris, I notice that, on your listing under Amenities, you indicate that "Breakfast" is offered. Remember to change that if you don't want to do breakfast. You can de-select it so that there's a strike-through "Breakfast" under Amenities, which means you don't offer it. As someone else mentioned, you are not obliged to offer breakfast. The name Airbnb initially came from "bed and breakfast" but it doesn't mean that any more. Just make sure you are clear in your listing, whether you offer breakfast or not, and what you offer.

HI CAROLYN, I'm not able to cancel breakfast from my "amenities". italian law doesn't permit it anymore. it's urgent and i dont know how to do it...

The way it works is that if you select the Breakfast ammenity, you should provide breakfast. If you don't select the Breakfast ammenity, then you don't need to provid breakfast.

No, I dont think. you are supposed to offer a normal breakfast( what you usually eat in your country). if they ask you particular things and if they are not willing to accept other countries 's habits, they should go to AN HOTEL. YOU ARE AN HOST IN YOUR PRIVATE HOME, NOT A SLAVE.

Would it be acceptable to include breakfast in a guest stay and let them help themselves - cereal is in the cupboards, fruit and milk is in the fridge, bread and bagels are on the counter.  I'm also new at air bnb.

that's pretty much what I do - I leave English muffins, jams, coffee and tea, butter and half and half for coffee. Sometimes juice, sometimes not.....
