Calendar Issues

Hi Guys,

I had a guest cancel their booking but the booking is still showing up as booked (in grey) on my calender!

Any Ideas how to fix this?

Hi @Josh51. Did you get a "sorry your booking has been cancelled" notice from airbnb? If not, then the guest may have told you s/he was cancelling, but hasn't hit the right buttons yet. This gets tricky, because hosts MUST NOT CANCEL a booking without a super good reason. If you did get a cancellation notice, then your calendar may just need a bit more time for the info to cycle through.

@Josh51 Besides what @Debby-And-Kevin0 mentioned, there's a misleading message that AirBnB sends to hosts when a guest has asked AirBnB to have the host cancel. The message coyly mentions that the guest wants to cancel and then asks if that's okay with you. If you approve that, AirBnB treats it as if the cancellation came from YOU, not from the guest. And then they do the usual in host-cancel situations -- block your calendar, charge you a penalty to be withheld from future earnings, etc.

Do you recall getting a message like that from AirBnB?
