@Renee45 For future postings, it might help if you mentioned what your "device" was -- computer running a browser, or iPhone or Android phone running the app, etc.
That aside, you said that "On my device those dates appear as cancelled (shaded grey)". If the dates were truly cancelled by the guest (and not by you, either knowingly or unknowingly), then the dates would appear as bright and shiny as any unbooked dates; they would not appear "shaded grey".
I suspect that you've been innocently victimized by the very shady way that AirBnB asks hosts something along the lines of "Your guest would like to cancel. Do you approve of that?" (I don't have the exact wording but it's something along those lines.) When you, as a nice and cooperative host, respond that you're okay with the guest's desire to cancel, the cancellation -- here comes the mind-blowing part -- gets assigned to YOU. Your listing gets penalized (fined) and the dates get blocked. The guest gets a full refund.
Mind-blowing.
