Cancel 6/6

Hi Airbnb!

me and my presumed guest (booking 6-9/6) are having a problem with cancellation.

I accepted the booking but later on, my guest e-mailed me and told me that he was arriving at about 00:00 pm and I am not able to welcome him during that time because of work the day after. He booked another accomondation and are now told that I am the one who have to cancel. Both of us didn’t anticipate this so I am just wondering if I Will be ”punisched” with a fee, on my next booking? Of course I Don’t want his money for the booking but it is strange that I’m the one that have to cancel and get a fee....

Best regards/Lisa

@Lisa1910

Both of your litstings say:

Check-in time is flexible

But they are not as flexible as the guest assumed

So i think you have to cancel (so guest receive full refund) and change your check-in times on the listing to a fixed time slot.

You probably did cancel already, as i see a recent cancellation message on your profile.

The cancellation penalty can be waived, please read:

@Lisa1910 You should have contacted Airbnb and have them cancel for you. You have set up your check in and check out time flexible. Add a specific time for both in order to avoid these kind of things, you can still be flexible when you want to and have grouds to ask the guest to cancel next time they don't follow your rules.
