Cancelation policy when I sell my property

Hi we have been successful full time hosts for nearly 5 years. It has been succes and very inspiring  Never expirenced any problems

Now we are selling our property. We already removed our profile from search results.

My issue is that we have 5 bookings that I need to cancel as new owners will take over the house. That is still 2 months till take over.

From what I read, the first cancelation will cost me 50usd and the following 100usd.

What is the policy in my case? Anyway to avoid the fees.

Best, Mikkel

I would contact airbnb and explain the situation. You obviously can't host if you have sold the house- hopefully you won't be fined and airbnb will contact the guests and allow them to rebook elsewhere.

In the meantime, as responsible hosts, I would message all these guests to let them know the situation so they are prepared for it, and let them know you're talking with airbnb to find a solution.

@Mikkel-and-Hanne0 - As @Sarah977 says, but please don't hang around. This isn't a nice situation for your would-be guests.

@Sarah977 @Gordon0 Thanks for your notes! I already got super support from airbnb to resolve this issue. They will not issue a fee 🙂 Airbnb will cancel the bookings and I am preparing a note to send to the guests. Indeed not a happy situation, but at least we are two months ahead.

Have a great weekend
