Hi! It my first time needing to cancel a reservation and it’s more than 2 months prior of check in. Will I still be charge a cancellation fee?
It doesn't really matter how soon (or not) the booking is, a cancellation is a cancellation, @Priscilla165. If you have extenuating circumstances, try speaking to Airbnb customer services.
@Priscilla165 In your situation it depends
(1) What is the cancellation policy used by the host in the listing. If it is not strict rule for cancellation, you are fine.
(2) When did you book it. If it is within 48 hours, you could cancel it.
(3) As @Gordon0 mentioned, if you have extenuating circumstances and can show the document to prove it.
@Priscilla165 the cancellation fee is not important, much more important is the notice you'll get on your listing saying the host cancelled this booking. This can and will put guests off booking your place.
I suggest you find a way to host the guests.
Unless you have an extenuating circumstance and can cancel penalty free
