Hey guys, I was charged $65 for cancelling a booking well in advance instead of the $50 cancellation fee in the cancellation policy. Does anyone know why this may have happened and advise me how to request airbnb correct it and reimbuse me the $15 extra deduction?
I was charged $65 as well. Have only been on Airbnb for a few months and didn't realise I had instant booking. There is not much leeway if you make a mistake.
I suppose you are a guest and that you cancelled a booking. If you cancel, the airbnb fees are never refunded even if you are well within the cancellation policy of the host. Take a look at your receipt/itinerary and the breakdown of costs.
Not sure this answers your question, but is the best I can do without seeing the relevant documents.
