Cancellation & Refund

Hello, i had to cancel a reservation and the guest is stating Airbnb retained $50 fee from his refund. He is demanding I pay him the $50. He did not provide proof of the $50 fee. Policy 9.3 states if a host cancels a reservation the guest shall recieve a full refund, and host may be assesed a fee. I did not get assesed a host fee as thisxwas my first time having to cancel since becomming a host over a year ago. Anyone know anything about guests being assessed cancellation fees due to host cancellation? Thank you...Irma

@Irma42, I don't see a cancellation listed in your reviews.

Did you do a host cancellation, or did the guest do the cancellation?

If you did the cancellation, then there should be an automated notification that you cancelled a guest's booking (which I do not see).

If the guest did the cancellation, then they might be charged the fee. Is this what happened?

The guest might be referring to Airbnb fee, @Irma42, which was not returned to them. Just a thought.

@Irma42 He can kick rocks! You’re not sending his butt a single penny.

If he gets anything at all, it’s going to be from Airbnb and NOT from you. If he starts acting dumb and sending you messages, block him. 

These guest are like kids, sometimes you have to stop Messing around and just spank them.
