Cancellation by Airbnb customer service Kyle

The guest checked in with 3 hours late. They were already drunk but nice people. They went out and the girl left a bag with a key in a restaurant which in a mentime closed. They couldn't reach me at 1 AM in a morning and Kyle from Airbnb cancelled their reservation on my behalf and applied all penalties on me like I cancelled reservation. When I get up at 5 AM to go to work I called guests and they were in hotel. They picked up keys from restaurants and went to my apartment to take their stuff. I didn't get paid for reservation, has to pay for cleaning service of apartment. I work full time job, do I have to be available whole night to assist drunk guests. This is not first time that this Kyle make unprofessional decision and make his own rules and decision. I will continue to fight until I get my money for this reservation.

@David1536 I tend to leave my phone with sound on when I have guests just in case they need anything.

@David1536  I agree with what Air BNB rep did except for any penalties.  Air BNB has to help guests whether stupid or drunk or stupid drunk.  Guests lose and misplace keys so a plan B is always needed.  As @Cynthia-and-Chris1 posted, perhaps you had best have your phone on when guests are in the house.  

 

I suggest you contact Air BNB directly regarding any penalties such as Super Host criteria and blocked dates (if the booking is longer than a single night).  You should not have thoses levied.
