Cancellation on arrival day

A guest cancelled hours before arrival. We have strict cancellation policy but we just got message from airbnb that they refunded almost entire amount to the guest. I dont understand why since the cancellation policy is clear about last minute cancellation...

@Ziyah-and-Yasminka0, it's impossible to know for sure without knowing the guest's side of the story, but if AirBnB cancelled, returning such a large amount, it's likely that there were serious and extenuating circimustances.
