Cancelling a booking

I am brand new to air B and B. When someone tried to book the prices had changed to what I had originally set them at. Had a conversation with the guest and explained the appropriate price I then cancelled the booking so he could re book under the new prices. Now that time is blocked out and he's asking how he can rebook-help!!! TIA

Hi Hayley,

When a host cancels a booking, Airbnb imposes a penalty by blocking the dates from being rebooked. It's on us as hosts to make sure our prices are set how we want before we get bookings. If you need more time with setting different prices for different dates you can snooze your listing until you're good to go.

Here's a list of the host cancellation penalties:

The previous comment explained well.  I will only add that in the future, if you need to make a change, you can make a"special offer" to the guest with a different price.  That avoids cancellation.

This, but it's through the "Change/Cancel reservation" and then "Modify reservation" links off the guest's itinerary.

Special offer is only available with inquiries, not confirmed reservations.
