Why is this not working. Says listed, but does not show up on the map or under any of my filters or any search and has 0 views.
I've tried all the filters. It should at the very least show on the map.
here is the link
Just called them. They said it takes 24-36 hours to appear while they review a new listing. It would be helpful if Abnb posted this message right after you hit publish! Instead they have it tucked away in some help article somewhere.
Hello @Marisse0 ,
It is always a good idea to read the Help before making a call...
You will have to wait until this link gives a result, then you know your listing is integrated in the system:
Best regards, Emiel
Yes, thanks for the "should have read the help section" comment... I did as much searching and researching and googling for help and in the community as much as I could before I posted this. However things are buried in the help section and are not that easily found as they should be for a first time hosting. And I have still yet to find it so how would I know it even exists? but thanks for the comment I guess.
There are several threads on this forum re new hosts saying they can't find their listing, and was answered before re the 24-36 hour review process so you didn't search that hard before asking.
This a great forum to help each other out, but really, there are posts here from new hosts who say they just got their first booking and don't even understand how they get paid, meaning they didn't bother to read the info on the airbnb site.
I did search and read some of those posts as well and saw a variety of problems with different answers and solutions, so I would have to sort through and see if it applied to me.
My point is that Abnb and hosts would save plenty of time if this info was clearly posted within the hosting control panel and directly after the publish posting process.
Perhaps instead of "listed" it should say "pending" or "listed, pending 24-36 hour review". Its not very user friendly to ask users after the fact to wait, wonder and then go dig through multiple threads to find answers. Someone else might have the same issue, but perhaps they have a different solution that does not apply to me. Sometimes you just have to speak to a person.
Anyhow, thats just my feedback to help abnb streamline the process a bit, and I only left this post up to help and people in the future that might have this problem.
Well, 48 hours and still no listing. It says listed but does not show up on map or in filtered searches. Called Abnb and was on the phone for an hour. Not very much was accomplished by tech support. They confirmed they could not find it either and confirmed everything was posted correctly on the listing. They had to escalate it to higher-ups, so not sure what the deal is. Any productive suggestions?
@Marisse0 I think there is definitely something wrong with the listing, technically speaking.
Usually this URL would show your listing on the map:
https://www.airbnb.com/s/homes?host_id=5742468
However, even the URL whose sole purpose is life it to show your listing on the map cannot show your listing on the map. It is almost as if your listing had no location coordinates.
Only the AirBnB support people who handle the escalated issues can fix this, I think.
They can't figure out whats wrong. Say they will call back but do not. Taking days. I'm going to try some other sites to get my house listed. Bad first impression unfortunately.
@Marisse0 it is a puzzler.
Is your listing's address unusual in any way?
Perhaps in your change the listing's address to something nearby, and then change it back to your actual address, it might fix the problem.
What things has support suggested you try?
Nothing wrong with the address. Can you modify a live listing's address? How long does it take to propagate? Just trying to get an idea of how long to wait, or not.
Abnb went through the entire account listing and settings and everything is correct. Nothing unusual. Simple street number, street, city, zip, state. So if they don't know what to do, then we sure don't.
Can you have two active listings with the same address at the same time? We might start over, keep the old one and make a new one. Not sure if that will be a problem or not. Then have to wait another 24-36 hours??
So i changed the name a little and the address to the next house over and now it is listed. Weird. Thanks for the tip Mathew. I'll change it back and see if it sticks.
@Marisse0 I'm glad you at least got some results from adjusting the address.
Sometimes the system doesn't store your information correctly. Changing it slighty forces the system to try to store the information again.
I hope it works with the actual address!
Please let us know.
