Cannot pre-approve a reservation even though dates are supposed to be available?

I blocked availability of my unit on July 14th for maintenance reasons. I then have a request for my unit  for July 13. The Guest will checkout at July 14 very early in the morning. I figured no problem, so I pre-approved the request. But now in my inbox it says  "You can’t pre-approve this guest because these dates aren’t available on your calendar."

 

I then removed the availability block on July 14, since I thought this was the problem. But still, the it seems that my guest is still not preapproved. Am i doing something wrong? Please help, and thanks in advance.

Hi @Wd0,

 

Suggest the Guest start the request to book all over again with the fresh dates and availability on the system. There could be a minor hiccup with the old request and availability changes you had.

Additional info: when I go to my corresponding rental unit's calendar, the requested dates are marked "Verification Pending - The guest must complete Verified ID within 12 hours to confirm the reservation"

 

So I suppose the guest has not completed verification process, and this is the reason my pre-approval has not gone through?

 

I wish it would just tell me that - instead of confusing me by saying that the dates are unavailable.

 

Did you ever get this sorted? How? I'm having this issue now!

24 July 2017 I too am now having this problem.... have clear dates, have not adjusted calender before or during enquiry... AirBnb help is sending me in circles.. any suggestions?

I've got the same problem - it feels like a glitch in the system - on the calendar it is saying that I am awaiting verification of the guest, but elsewhere it says that I can't pre-approve them becuase my calendar is blocked, however the only thing I have in the calendar is the booking request for the same person......  My guest is saying that they have paid and had the confirmation however!

 

Did anyone resolve this?

@Ola13, I am not sure what happened with the previous hosts (as they have not yet returned to report their results), but I imagine it makes sense for you to contact AirBnB support about the problem (if you have not yet done so).

Thank you, I have reported it to Airbnb support, but yet to hear back from them. I sent a special offer to the guest to see if that would resolve the problem.

Currently having exact same problem - clearly this is an issue - can someone from Airbnb please respond?

I had this happen today (using the app)  and i was able to pre-approve the inquiry online (using the website). Hopefully this helps everyone, until airbnb can fix the issue in the Android app.

Same problem. Approved the a request on app and it went through. I thought all was fine until I received a new booking for similar days which was weird as the 1st booking was approved. Only then did I go online to find a note/message "You can’t pre-approve this guest because these dates aren’t available on your calendar. View Calendar" which is not correct. 

 

The fact that someone else can request to book for those days means that the 1st booking didnt go through..

I am experiencing the similar problem.  But can you advise how did it using the website? I tried but coulld not figure out how!
