Cease and desist from HOA to stop using AIRBNB

We recently purchased a property and have been threatened with fines from our HOA if we continue to use AIRBNB. We believe we are fully in compliance with both the HOA covenants and the town laws. The Covenants mention " No transients", the town bylaws define transient renters as under 30 days. The HOA seems more concerned with the AIRBNB posting. Any experience from users getting assistance from AIRBnB? I feel the company should defend itself? Unless specifically stated in local rules or documented by HOA, nobody should be able to put a ban on useage of the service.

In most places when you have people staying over 30 dyas they are not guests but tenants, and that becomes a different set up, need a lease etc. AirBnB is not well suited for long term bookings, you can include a lease form in your listing. But for example no security depost you hold.
