Charged in full after a reinstated booking

Hi. I recently booked 10 nights in July with a host who had two listings in the same complex ( the host has very positive reviews  - although they are all in relation to a property he has now sold. The one I booked appears to be a new addition to his portfolio). Anyway, I subsequently received a message saying my reservation was cancelled. When I contacted the host he said that he was selling the apartment and Airbnb had cancelled all reservations. However,  he then realised that I was booked into the apartment he *wasn’t* selling and the cancellation had been in error. I received a message from Airbnb inviting me to reinstate my booking, which I did (albeit a bit nervously). In my initial booking I elected for partial payment. I have subsequently been charged the full amount (unauthorised, in my opinion) - and Airbnb support claim that there is no option but full payment for a reinstated booking. My question is - does this seem right, or should I be concerned?

Hello @Sophie520. From what I remember, in the case of cancellation a guest is given the choice to withdraw the amount or to move it on to another booking. So imho it would not be fair to charge the guest again and keep all the money (twice the amount).
