Co Host Frustration

So frustrated trying to get to get someone to Host while I’m overseas for five weeks end of May till beginning of July.

advertised through Co-Host section. Two applied but then either didn’t answer follow up messages or after saying they were interested messaged they now didn’t want to do it. They wanted ridiculous amounts for cleaning and 25% of takings. I wouldn’t make anything give it’s Winter rates for my beachside condo.

I didn’t want to lose my Super Host status but cannot get anyone so have to keep bookings blocked for my time away. 

Would Airbnb keep this in mind when they next review my status please?

I am surprised there aren't more hosts on the co-host registry in your area, @Jane235.  You have posted on a host forum in case you thought your note was read by Air BNB.  I am on the registry in my city and there are quite a number of other hosts as well.  As to fees, the usual in my area is 10-20% for management of expensive entire homes, but the cleaners are usually hired out.  Since you place does not command a large nightly rental, you might need to negotiate a higher rate.  

Also in my area which is the Southern California desert near Palm Springs, we usually do not have much activity during the summer months (our type of winter :P) and I have never had a problem qualifying to Super Host since it is an assessment based on a year of activity.  I think those who host long term have more of a problem.

What do you think of going to the Home Sharing Club of Melborne to see if there are hosts that could be interested?  You are not talking about a long term arrangement, so a busy host might take it on while you are traveling.  Just a thought.  Good luck!
