Communicating with potential guests - new host

I am new host.  Just received a reservation request.  I sent a message back with some clarifications about the listing.  Have not heard a response.  How do I know for certain that my message was sent?  I typed it in the message box, hit send & it then showed gray with a time stamp.  So, assuming the guest received it.  But it has now been 4 hours since put out the message, so just want to make sure that I correctly sent my message.

If you have a booking request (rather than inquiry)  and you're not on Instant Book you need to accept or decline within 24 hours.

If the guest needs to come back to you on some issues before you confirm the booking, you will need to wait and then maybe three or four ours before it expires remind them they have xxx hours left  to come back to you so you can confirm the booking before it expires.

If they don't come back and it's a key point for you, you will need to decline and advise them to submit another request.

Lots of guests shop around and don't reply to your emails...you get used to it.
