Hi everyone I really need some advises on my recent experience.
Basically my holiday completed ruined because the host made a fraudulent description, claiming the property a 2-bedroom but is actually a 1-bedroom plus a study corner. Sent message to host but he just ignored my query and I couldn't cancel it until last day and got only one day refund. Also raised the issue to Airbnb, they just got me to talk to host and nothing they'll do.
I got all evidences but AirBnb just said - it happened and sorry for your bad luck.
Is there any way I can raise an offical complain and put them to court?
I booked for 5 nights, but actually stayed on the first night and fourth night, got last night cancelled.
@Woody13 Did you contact Airbnb as soon as you noticed the discrepancy, or after you had already cancelled? I would have contacted them right away and asked them to help me find another place to stay if I was unhappy with the accomodation.
I'm curious as to what the listing actually said and looked like. Do you have a link? I'd say that any further steps heavily depend on the contents of the listing.
Yup I sent both host and support message immediately after check it.
Support got me to contact the host, and the host didn't reply to me until late evening next day. But he just kept ignoring my question. I raised two issues - the missing bedroom and the unopenable window, and he just replied the unopenable window and says it's designed for security.
The support didn't help me to find another accommodation, said I can always communicate with host and have it cancelled and leave them a review.
Guests are not protected at all. "If you got into a bad place, just cancel it and find a better place" is what AirBnb does.
And you know what, AirBnb would just hide all negative comments so people will happily pay the accommodation...... unethical
