I have two lots of bookings which have been half paid.

Can anyone tell me if I can use my coupon for either of these as I booked before getting notification of the coupon.

According to the "HELP" it is not possible to use a coupon on an excisting reservation:

I am trying to use my coupon for a reservation. After putting the coupon code, they said the amount to pay is zero, but they ask me for a payment by credit card or paypal and don't confirm the reservation.

Is someone able to explain me how it works?

Your payment details will be required incase you damage the property, airbnb then can charge you for the damage.
