I'm new to Airbnb and was just about to make my first reservation about 36 hours ago, but was unable to do so because I need to verify my credit card by uploading a statement. I did so, but have still not heard back from Airbnb. I've seen some posts indicating that it might take 4+ days to get the statement verified, and I'm going to need accommodations sooner than that.
When I hover over the Trips tab, I see the reservation I tried to make, and it says "failed verification" beside it. When I click on View Trips, no trips are listed.
My question is, if I go ahead and make a reservation elsewhere, do I have to worry about getting hit with some cancellation fees from Airbnb?
I wish I had an answer for you, but I'm experiencing the same thing. No email received saying whether or not my card had been verified, but I see the 'Failed verification' message under Trips - and there is no way to submit a different statement or anything like that to try to verify the card again. MInd you, there was nothing wrong with the statement i did submit.
Can anyone from Airbnb help? I seem to be unable to book anything and unable to cancel the request and try again with a different card!
did anyone get an answer? I am going through this now?
After many calls to them and emails, someone finally told me they didn't receive my billing statement, although I was told by two other customer service representatives that they had it and everything was fine. If I need an airbnb later down the line i may tru afain but Ultimately, I have up and took my business elsewhere.
This is the exact scenario that happened to me yesterday. I need to know if they finally approved your request.
Up to now 5 days.Having made three emails, two calls still didn't get verification
me too! it said it should be verified within 24 hours but it has been more than 48 hours and it is still not verified.
Could you fix the problem? Im through that right now and I need to book.
No i gave up and booked through another similar service that my host referred me to. Airbnb eventually said they had no evidence of me ever sending my statement and asked for me to resend it (although it was confirmed by them twice via telephone that it was received) i may try again at some point.
I need to change my credit card information on file so I can book but can't find link to change credit card information
The AirBnB system states that providing a credit card statement is an "alternate" way of verifying a credit card - supposedly you can also verify the card by allowing them to make two small charges against the card - but their system doesn't work. They also ask me to upload a copy of my driver's license, even though there have never been any issues with my credit card over the 8 months I've used it with AirBnB.
Since I don't have the ability to upload photos (I'm old school), I may have to give up on AirBnB if they don't get this fixed.
Hello everyone,
Been using Airbnb for quite sometime now and the same thing just happened to me.
After providing my ID, taking a selfie and paying half for my trip (my bank even confirmed that the payment went in), it then says "Failed Verification". No email confirmation from Aibnb and nothing shows up to my upcoming trips.
To anyone who got in touch with Airbnb, may I know what email and phone number can I reach out to? Because their help page is useless in this problem.
Or can anyone from Airbnb us out?
@Rei-Gill0, there is a button labelled "Contact us" at the bottom of the help page that is very useful for reaching AirBnB directly.
(There is no one from AirBnB on this discussion board.)
Or, just use this: https://www.airbnb.com/help/contact_us
@Matthew285, thank you for the quick response. By clicking "Contact Us", it shows me this:
And when I click "Visit the Help Center", it shows me this:
Am I doing something wrong? Are you getting this too? I can't seem to get their email address.
Thanks
@Rei-Gill0, what happens when you use the “my host wasn’t able to answer my question” section?
You want to find any choice that does not lead you either here or to your host.
