I had a potential guest send me a message at 5:30pm tonight saying they wanted to check in this evening and asked for a discount. I’m entering my slow season so I offered her a 25% discount and told her she could check-in in an hour as my cleaners were still cleaning from a late check out. She agreed and I sent over the special offer with the discount. She never booked!! Do you think I didn’t offer a large enough discount? How much of a discount would you have offered her?
Hi....You did more then I would have it was very generous. She probably changed her mind. Its usually an issue of manors some have it and some dont. I wouldn't put too much thought into it you did everything right! Happy Renting!
You said it -- You're entering your slow season. You've got nearly a perfect rating for value.
Personally I think there becomes a price level at which it's just not worth the risk or the hassle.
I wouldn’t have discounted at all.
It was last minute. Your prep is the same.
Other lodging resources charge considerably higher “rack” rates for last minute bookings.
The lack of communication when she didn’t book after you offered a kindness strikes me as a blessing in disguise.
Part of my vetting process includes communication. How, if, and when matter to me because it often sets the tone for the rest.
