Hi Everyone,
Just trying to get some advice here regarding a situation. Currently renting a room from a host who stated there was a double bed in the room only to find out it’s actually a pull out couch. Is that false advertising or is pull out couch not an option for a single renter on the listings?
I’m not new but for some reason this urks me a little because it was deceiving. Also, the listing states “very private” but there’s a backdoor to the bedroom which attaches to the kitchen. The door is a collapsible door not a real door. Last but not least, the kitchen lights are in my bed room. I was told to just turn then off at night.
I dont want Airbnb to contact the host and make things awkward so Im reaching out here instead for advice.
Thank you!
hello @David1988 ,
One of the sections to be set in a listing is the "sleeping facilities". Is it set in the listing ?
It can be made clear in that section if a double bed or just a sofa/couch is offered. Best regards, Emiel
Under sleeping arrangements it says Bedroom 1 and 1 Double bed underneath. Also noted that the listing states under guest access private entrance which is not accurate because it’s just a bedroom in the home. Also, it states the door locks true to some degree but the folding door obviously doesn’t.
A sofa is NOT a bed. And it doesn't sound ''very private''. You are in an inaccurate listing!
@Sandra126, I think the sofa in question is a sofa bed (the kind that converts into a bed).
But yes, it is not very private.
Most sofa beds I've had the misfortune to sleep on leave something to be desired in the comfort dept, so I think it's inaccurate of the host to state that it is a double bed.
@Sarah977, yes! And it is especially disappointing because there is a specific "sofa bed" type the host can use when describing the bedding.
@David1988 These are the types of beds hosts can choose from in their settings. If you think something doesn't match the description of the listing, make sure you rate the host for (in)accuracy and represent the facts in your review.
