Extended stays

I have 1 guest who will check-out tomorrow.  From the start, he knows that our check-out time is at 12 noon and he agreed to that.

Now, he's asking me if he can stay until 11:30 pm. Should I apply another cost for this?

You be stretching credulity to call this a late check-out.

Another nights booking is appropriate and fair.

In my neck of the woods, if it happens on a Friday, Saturday or peak season it's full price.

Off-peak probably 50 to 80% percent of the usual rate is negotiated.

It's wise to get it sorted, agreed and paid for by the time the clock strikes noon.

@Bea77  Yes, tell the guest that they can book one more night if they'd like to stay past check-out time. It doesn't matter that they leave before midnight, as their "extension" still prevents you from accepting another booking for that date.

If they have the audacity to suggest that they shouldn't be charged another night because it's the same calendar date, kindly show them the exit and make sure they've fully departed by noon.

some people obviously don't understand that in this business the days / nights doesn't count from midnight to midnight but from check-in time to check-out time.

Are you going to be around to check that they have left at 11:30 pm and not 04:30am to go to the Airport.

All this would be extra work for you and unless you don't put any value on your time, I'd charge them for an extra day.
