Hi I'm a new host and had recently a guest who had her wallet stolen, I and the guest from another room lend her some money and she agreed to pay us back through airbnb. Anyone knows which option should I use to charge her for the borrowed money? My questions are:
1) there are 3 options: a) damaged or missing items b) extra services c) other trip related issues
It seems to me that c) is what I have to use.
2) if I use option c), will she able to pay through airbnb? or airbnb only charges for a) and b)?
When using resolution center, a payment request is sent to the guest or not?
Never used it in this situation, so not sure how to proceed, any suggestion/comment are welcome. Thanks.
@Michael321 Yes, use the Resolution Center. Options c and d would work fine. The guest will get a message asking her to accept. If she doesn't you can involve Airbnb whose decision will be final. Hopefully your guest will agree and you will be paid.
I'm just beginning to rent and I know electricity costs are potentially an issue in this Hot environment and A/C use. I'm wanting to use the "Deposit" option for collecting fees for abuse/neglect of the electricity costs. Is that appropriate and will AirBnB support this approach? I've alerted new renters that the "Deposit" will be used for both damages, loss and Excessive Electricity use. Please advise.

Hi I have the same question. Does the guest get the message after she has checked out or as soon as I've completed the action at the Resolution Centre?
thanks!
