Extra rooms off the one you are renting out.

Just a heads up: I have a storage area with a train set off the rooms I let.  One of my guests entered the room and played with the train set.  I mean, took every car out of its package and set it up, including both engines AND assembled a bridge kit.

I had the room locked with a privacy lock which they opened.  I will now be putting a keyed lock on the door.

Don't assume a privacy lock will deter people.

Sorry about your experience. What did the guest say when you talked to them?

I've also had guests entering areas they shouldn't, and I now write very specifically in my house manual and welcome email to not enter areas as they are not safe for visitors (but we live on an old farm, these areas are seriously not safe...). But - you know - writing it in house manual and instructions only work so far...
