First time hosting through AirBnB

This is our first time renting our lake house through AirBnB and everything is moving a bit fast for my comfort.  It was my understanding that allowing instant acceptance would entail the renter having past good reviews through AirBnB.  Now what I'm finding out is that AirBbB only checks that the renter has a valid government ID, which could be a drivers license.

Can anyone give me their feedback on your satisfaction, or non-satisfaction on allowing instant bookings?

Go back and modify your rules so that only people with prior reviews can do instant book. You have to make sure you checked that box. Otherwise the default is for Airbnb verification only.
