Four years in.

We have been hosts for four year and have enjoyed almost all of our guest and have had been super host the entire time. Recently we have had guests that expect more and are leaving more complaints than ever and seem to be more price motivated. I’m saddened cause this is not fun and I’m getting stressed out. What is happening? Anyone else going through this?

Guest become more experienced with Airbnb and start to compare it with other ways of renting accommodation..Hosting is becoming more like a business and less fun. For a host there is some learning curve to act more professional. It means saying "no" when neccesary and be strict for guest who need to be handled in a strict way. Then the fun comes back, without stress..

Thanks for an honest answer. It is what it is. We did this four years to home share and meet people who wanted to share our space and it was amazing we invited our guests to dine with us and we got a very personal interaction. It has changed recently and again it is was it is. Bringing it to a more professional level may be the future but I will miss the personal connections.

@Corbin3 . Interesting. I was telling some stories to friends that I don't see often last night and I realized that since I began being an AirBNB host it is _ME_ that has changed. I used to make specialized breakfast breads for guests who came from foreign landsand were homesick. I used to spend hours chatting with them, learning about their lives. I became emotionaly attached in some way. Not every guests of course, but many of them.

It is possible that guests have changed, but I have too.
