Fraud ?

I was charged $1516 for a stay that never happened. I never inquired or was interested in going. I simply noticed it on my bank statement. The host finally contacted me and said to give him my phone number and he would call to let me know how to get the money back. I asked him for a phone number and I would call and his reply was "I am sorry to inform you that we do not have a line you could call on at the moment. kindly provide a contact phone number so we can reach you over the phone to explain how you are going to get it for you."

Typos I can live with, but should I be concerned that they can call me but I cannot call them?

Thanks.

Kirk

Hi..none of this makes sense.

If you did not book and there is a transaction on your bank account you should be speaking to your bank and reporting an unknown transaction and/or fraud.

There is no reason why a host would have your money if you did not make and confirm a booking. Suggest you speak to your bank or credit card company immediately and report this.

this happend to me, and the bank said i should talk to the ARBNB and find out who was using my account.
