Fraudulent Hosts

I have booked a room nearly a month ago with instant booking, which was confirmed.  As a preventive action I called this individual  72 hours before to double check he told me that the room was not available.  The measure Airbnb did was to offer me a refund and a 27 euro credit, which is absurd considering that booking a flat with shorter notice is significantely more expensive. 

 

Given that this situation is not my fault, I want to be compensated, at least partially. Unfortunately Airbnb has not provided any signs of good will and if they refuse to do so I will go the authorities.

I'm sorry about your experience.

 

You can expect that Airbnb will be taking other measures against the host penalizing the host with fees, loss of superhost status, possible suspension of account etc, but these won't be apparent to you I guess, unless you follow up with the case manager and ask what they will do about it. They can't offer you another room, sadly.
