Getting the rest of my refund

I booked a property in Puerto Rico for 5/24-28/2017.  My host had to cancel the booking due to damage done to the property.  I cancelled my reservation per her instructions so she could refund all of the payment to me.  I got $250 refunded.  I asked her for the remainder $202.  She said it went through.  I discovered today while working on our taxes, I never got the additional refund.  Is there anything I can do through Airbnb to get the money returned.  I have sent her a message with no response at this time

@Jan69  Air BNB handles the payment/refund aspect of this process so you need to call them.  Here is a guide to contacting Air BNB.

@Jan69 the host should have cancelled the reservation, not you.

You even say "My host had to cancel the booking ..."

But then somehow the host convinces you that *you* had to cancel?

"I cancelled my reservation per her instructions so she could refund all of the payment to me."

That isn't how it is supposed to work, and I'll bet the host knew it.

If the host could not honor your reservation, the host was supposed to cancel the reservation, not you.

You are not required to do the cancellation to get your refund. In fact, having the guest do the cancellation is worse for the guest in all ways.

Of course the host isn't responding. They would rather you went away.

You should contact AirBnB support about this.

Were the messages from the host all in the AirBnB messaging system? You will want to show AirBnB support what the host said.
