Hello,

I'm planning a trip to Scotland this July. I've lived in Europe, Germany and Austria, but have never visited the UK (Scotland). Any suggestions or advice from locals or people traveling in the UK would be happily accepted. July is the month i'll be in Scotland. NO, I'm not going to see Harry Potter or the like......perhaps Jamie Fraser a.k.a. Sam Heughen (sp?)......

I am a local (Edinburgh) and happy to give you lots of recommendations for your trip to Scotland. Where are you going to visit?  Just Glasgow, or other places, too?  Happy to provide suggestions, though there are so many you'll need to give me a few pointers on what you're looking for.

As you know the UK is a large place with many, many places of interest.

You haven't given any indication of your interests, whether travelling with children, or timescales, so difficult to make any meaningful suggestions. A bit like asking for ideas when travelling to the U.S. 🙂

I live in the UK but would struggle with suggestions based on what you have told us.

You can look at the Visit Scotland and Visit England website which will give you lots of ideas or attractions and places of interest.
