Guest Abandons Friend

Had an inebriated female college graduate leave her friend two hours before daylight.  They got into an argument and she left on foot.  We searched for her but no luck.  Prior to her leaving they had a verbal cat fight where the word bitch was being thrown at each other and who graduated first and who had an engineering major and who wasn't successful at this and that ....aiy yi yi.  I have grown sons so I was not prepared for a verbal sparring match at 4 am.  They have been friends for 2 yrs and the one friend who actually has a car said she does this all the time to seek attention.  The friend with the car, got up the next morning and  left without letting me know.   I left a message on Airbnb for the one who left in the wee hours of the morning to at least let me know she was okay.  Legally I couldn't detain her against her will but as a mom I am naturally concerned for her safety.

@Wysteria0 well they weren't much of a friends judging by the insults, I hope this will be a learning experience for both. I understand your concern but I don't think there is much you can do since they both left. You could message them to confirm if they are ok, maybe someone will respond. I would still review them honestly aside from the concern. Screaming figts at 4AM is not an acceptable behavior.

I concur wholeheartedly.  I just documented at least making an attempt to contact her just for my own personal safety and accountability -- God forbid if something had happened.  I know we are just to provide accommodations but that was a new experience I don't want to go through again.  Think I may have to update some house rules especially if I am going to accept college aged guests.

Since when did Airbnb hosts have to also be  guidance counsellors and social workers?

Tell me about it.  I'm a school psychologist but I was not on the clock. LOL   I sent her some words of wisdom though.
