The credit card of an upcoming guest was compromised. His bank issued him a new card. His reservation is with his old card and he wants to know how he can change the reservation to be booked on the new card instead. According to the information I could find he is not able to change the payment method on an active reservation. What would you recommend to rectify this situation? If he added the new credit card as an additional payment method, would Airbnb autmatically process the payment on that second card if the first is declined? Or should I tell him to cancel reservation and rebook with new card?
If he has booked already, then he has paid on his old card at the time of booking. If his card has just been replaced any credits or debits from his old card are applied to his new account. You can contact Airbnb to reconfirm the booking payment if you wish..or ask the guest to check with their credit card company that the payment is still in place.
Thanks! Makes total sense.
"you can contact Airbnb to reconfirm the booking payment"
I can't find a way to contact Airbnb on any issue.
@Jim248 Well, on the first page of this Help forum where you posted, there is a huge pinned post, third from the top that lists all the ways to contact Airbnb.
