We have a guest checked in today, she came along with one guy who said is helping her move her luggage. In our house rule we have clearly mentioned that no guest or Visiotrs unless included in booking. She never even cheked with us if it ok to bring someone over to the place. They both were in the guest room for coulpe of hours and on asking if he is planing to stay overnight he replies "No", but after a while she comes and checks with my husband if it is ok if he stays overnight and She may have another guest visting her and staying overnight on Monday (12/12/2016). She said she will pay the $10 for additional peron as mentioned in the booking. I am not happy with all this going on, it is just her first day and she has booked the place for 25 days.Never experieced this before.
Then just say no.
Im not understanding the problem. Seems she asked your husband permission and your husband said yes. She also agreed to pay the requested fee.
Think of it this way - if you give the extra guest permission to stay the 25days, thats an add' $250 in your pocket.
While you may feel she should have included it as part of the original booking, she has now asked for two separate nights and offered to pay, and you have agreed to do so.
Do you think she was trying to 'sneak' someone in? If so, then you have done the right thing by asking the question, and also accepting payment as per your rules.
Am new at this - however, shouldn't any 'resident' be approved through AirBnB?, and AirBnB has a protocol for just this type of a scenario where a 'surprise' guest situation arises - to take the particulars of the guest, process it per the protocol and the billing is taken care of in the process? The only issue I would see here is the dynamics of the bookee and the 'guest' - if you as the host are suspicious of the appropriateness of the stay - then weigh that out and take the proper action regardless of the revenue.
You are correct- so what you do is agree the new arrangement, record it on the messaging platform and send your guest a revised price for the new total (which they must accept for it to be valid)
Hi
My cleaner reported that my guest brought 3 additional persons with her for check in today. The problem is i am not in the same location so cannot check on the guest. How do i deal with this issue?
Oh no!
I would message her to mention it and if it can't be worked out (3 people is a little much) report it to Airbnb and make sure to bring it up in the review so she doesn't spring this on other hosts.
