Guest cancellation

Guest cancellation

I had a guest cancel via phone after 6:30pm yesterday.  We're new to Airb&b and I didn't think of it, until this afternoon. should I cancel her registration, and if so can you do it after the check in date? I was under the impression that the guest was going to cancel online.  Thanks.

I had a guest show up at my house saying they decided to stay somewhere else. Airbnb (who has 24hr customer service) said they had to cancel themselves. I still got a portion of the payout as well.

Let the guest cancel it online, don't do it for them or you will have a hefty penalty. And if they are too late to do it and your cancellation policy kicks in, it's their own fault.

Do not cancel yourself, whatever you do! There are penalties such as a fine, blocked calendar etc. The guest will have to cancel on the system, and your cancellation policy will kick in.

@Sandra0 is correct, you never want to be the one to cancel
