Guest claims cannot book until a Government ID is provided.

We have a guest who claims that he cannot proceed with the booking until he submits his driver's license. As the host, we do not require submission of a Government ID, only a profile photo. Is there any step during registration of a new account in which AirBnB requires a Government ID? We have never had a guest report this problem before. I've asked the inquirer to contact AirBnB customer support and blocked the booking for 24 hours. Waiting on a response.

Yes, Airbnb can request ID verification during or after creating a new account. They perform fixed or random checks on new accounts. It happended to me several times a guest suddenly had to upload ID.

I recenty even recieved a message from Airbnb saying "Is this guest spamming you ?" and had to answer with Yes or NO before to continue communication. So it seems the software is continuesly monitoring interactions.
