Just when I thought I’ve seen it all, guest invites local friends and family to bring their laundry over to my house. Used lots of detergent and on checkout day my cleaner reports washing machine was backing up into the tub. The sewer line was clogged. Guest just left and didn’t notify me of the plumbing issue.
Nothing surprises anymore to what lengths they will go, we would have problems with the septic tanks should that happen.
@Dawn241 we provide a basket and the laundromat is across the road . I have always resisted putting in a washing machine . If it really annoys you take the washing machine out . H
@Dawn241 No, don’t take your washing machine out. If the laundry room has a door, put a lock on it, and don’t advertise the appliance as an amenity in your listing.
I am about to install a washer/dryer in my basement studio apt; but the laundry room will be locked because it won’t be for guest. It’s for my use because I am tired of running up and down the stairs to the 3rd floor lugging laundry.
Also, don’t allow local guests.
Maybe in different locations but we get asked a lot do we have a washing machine, it does say in the listing that we have, I only have one property on airbnb at the moment we have a washing machine in there lots of people ask.
I remember I used to have a villa that didnt have one I lost bookings because of it, Laundry is cheap to get done in Thailand, I know I own a laundry.
We don’t allow local guests, but that doesn’t stop people from inviting them over. Washer and dryer is in the kitchen, no way to lock it. It’s my second home so I need it to do my laundry and bedding and towels when guests leave.
