Guest information book

I am a new host and am preparing a folder containing useful information for guests.

Details like local restaurants, places to visit, contact numbers for Doctor etc.

Can anyone suggest a reasonably comprehensive list of things I should include, please?

I have already local tourist leaflets (with spare copies if required) & maps but always have the feeling I have left out something important!

Thanks.

Hi @Paddy4, we leave a set of tourist leaflets for the local area and throughout the Highlands in our 2 rooms. We also leave a local bus timetable although 99% of guests have their own transport. But in each room we also have a folder welcoming the guests and with information about the wifi code, history of the village and the house, information about us and the children and dogs, information about the bedroom and shower room, a list of the local shops (with their opening times and what they sell), where the post office is for postcards and stamps, a list of the local restaurants and their opening times, times of local attractions like the museum and weekend bagpipe displays and a list of every TV channel. We also give details of what we serve for breakfast and the times for that, where the hairdryer is (!), how to move the shower up and down (we do get asked) and the games equipment for children in the garden (with disclaimer) and info about the use of the BBQ. Although it's not necessary, we have had the main info in the folder translated into French, Spanish, Italian and German.
