Guest leaving stained sheets

Hi Folks, This Airbnb business certainly throws up some challenges. Guests yesterday arrived 3 pm yesterday, left 9.30 am this morning. Male & female work colleagues (!)

When we went to change the beds there were several stains (blood) on the sheet & right through on to the mattress protector which someone had tried to rub with water, then dried (with hairdryer) which set the stains 🤢

Furthermore, they used more gas in 18 hours than the previous guests used in a week.

Now Airbnb are saying the guests have written a review (they seemed very happy on departure) & I’m being asked to write a review!

After scrubbing and rubbing I doubt I would say anything good.

Should I just ignore it?

@Pamela553 no, you should leave a review and be honest. These things happen, it comes with the territory and that is why we invest in mattress protectors which we can wash. I wouldn't write in detail about the stain but mark down for cleanliness.

Thanks Ana for your reply. Thankfully we had a washable mattress protector or the mattress would have been stained too.  We had new guests coming this afternoon and, only having one mattress protector, for that big bed,  it was a rush to get it washed & dried and the bed made up in time for the new check in.

I guess this would have been pretty mortifying for the guest and I'm not sure there's any point marking them down for it. One can only imagine how they would have felt, hence the painic of trying to clean up. Personally, I'd put it down to experience. Oh, and make sufre you have two mattress protectors!

Thanks Gordon.  I think we were just so ticked off. This was not a nice job to do. My verified guest was male, he booked a second guest (who I found out on arrival was female) . He probably doesn’t even know about the incident (assuming he slept in the other room). I suppose I would expect someone to take precautionary measures, if this was a regular occurrence,  bring their own towel etc.

We’ll get another mattress protector.
