Guest not having full booking cost information

I have recently had 2 guests asking what the total cost is to book my cottage. Do guests not have this information in full their end of the booking system?

Do you charge any taxes that are not collected by Airbnb, @Jane113? In the US Airbnb collects taxes, but not necessarily in other countries. That would be the only fee - occupancy taxes...

Do you think the conversation is a sly attempt to ask for a discount?

I did wonder the same initially. But the rest of the conversation did appear to be a genuine enquiry and no discount asked for.
