Guests Downloading Illegial Content

So I just had to call my cable company to get my internet turned back on. Apparently my guests had illegally downloaded a season of a popular television series and I'm guessing that they were sharing it with the world.

I have received three letters from my isp before but this is the first time they have taken action. Apparently my guests do this a lot even though I have paid for amazon prime video and HBO.

I read another post about hosts that had a similar problem but these posts don't talk about getting their services turned off. I'm going to update my house rules and put this in the house manual but I'm concerned if this happens again.

The service tech at my isp mentioned that if this happens again, that they will likely turn of services for 6 months.

Do I have any recourse for guests that get my services interrupted for a significant amount of time? I think I will still be liable for the costs of services for a 6 month period of this happens again.

I'm an Airbnb superhost and just trying to do the right thing.

@James-and-Renee0  I doubt you have any recourse, café's and hotels have the same problem.  But, you could add a blocker and/or a timer so people need to log in every hour or so, which would interrupt heavy downloads. It's a bit of a sledgehammer approach but I haven't found anything that is more sophisticated and targeted.

Or, get much slower internet speed, which will be very effective in stopping people downloading without hindering the normal surfing activities... 😉
