Guests notifies bringing extra people. Can I cancel

Guest booked for only herself. Then she messages that it's actually for her parents and they are bringing her brother. I said okay. It's now the night before arrival and after many texts from me asking for arrival time she says her two sisters will also be arriving on the second night.  Told her I could not accommodate sisters.  She's please, please, it will ruin their trip.

Can I cancel this booking?

Contact Airbnb and explain this situation. They may be willing to help you.

Defenetly you can cancel her reservation. But I would suggest you to contact Airbnb and explain the situation to them, they will cancel the reservation for you. In my case, I do not accept extra visitors and is they bring extra people I will charge a $250 penalty.
Good luck!!

First notify airbnb. Then you should certainly cancel. She took advantage of you once by changing it to her parents and her brother. Then when you said OK because you're a good person, she added 2 more. You are not running a flop house. And from experience I can tell you when a guest starts out on a bad foot it only gets worse once they arrive. Plus you have an automatic out since there are no 3rd party listings. Call airbnb and put a stop to this insanity. Give some people an inch and they take a mile. As this shows. What are some people thinking? Put your foot down, and ignore the please. You could also say please. Like please be honest and stick to your original booking. Please, please. Give me a break.

Good luck.

You really need Airbnb to cancel it for you, you cannot cancel it yourself without penalty. But they can!

Sharon,

Do not cancel.  Do not honor her request. Establish clear rules  and never break your own rules, only correspond through the airbnb email platform.  You are the providing Guests with all the incentive to violate your rules, don't do this as you will become very disappointed by the number of Guests who will take advantage of you because they think they can.

You have a great porch to sit on, no wonder the whole family wants to come but you really don't have the room.

Wishing you better luck in the future,  Eloise
