HELP - My listing is not being approved!

A month ago I began using Airbnb on my own account.  I signed up three beds and when these beds became fully booked I began another two ads.  The approval process took longer than it should have.  I called Airbnb and they said that I was in an approval process which woiuyld take two to three weeks.  My friend from Russia who has been with Airbnb from the start who taught me how to use Airbnb and how to properly be part of the Airbnb family said that Airbnb is mesing with me for some reason and that I may have to scrap ny account.  I am on my last semester of Community College where I will be transferring to a Uc this coming fall.  I am highly cammunicative and am a little offended as to what is going on and am thinking of going to another website as I am a good host and everyone that stops by here usually comes back.  What should I do?

Hi @Brian841  🙂

I just took a quick look at your profile and your listing.

I can't be sure why airbnb needs to approve a new listing of yours. I can only guess.

We as hosts are rated once every 3 month. Airbnb expects all of us no matter if we got a budget listing or a deluxe mansion to have at least 4,7 in our overall rating. I can see you got low ratings in some areas.

If you have low ratings airbnb might delist you and in order to prevent that you just open a new listing they might do as they currently do.

Make sure everything is clean and ready for your guests at all times. Airbnb is harsh and it is very stressful being a host. I can see you are a new host and I recommend checking out this community. I have learned a lot I wasn't aware of about the rating system, what guests expect etc. Also if you get a less than perfect review make sure to reply in a very friend and professional way. That way future guests will see you as a great person who takes your guests serious and solves problems.

All the best, Sandra

@Brian841 Another thing is to make sure to mention any "less than perfect areas" if you have any of course 🙂

Where I live in Copenhagen we got very, very, very tiny bathrooms. They are called "Copenhagen bathrooms" in Denmark. I make sure to mention that with pictures and in words so my guests are prepared. Now they get an authentic Copenhagen experience 😉

Otherwise they will highlight it in the reviews and downrate me because they feel cheated. I can see my fellow (less experienced) airbnb hosts in Copenhagen make the mistake not to mention it.
