HELP please! A guest wants to change a reservation

My guests need to change their reservation from 4 people to 2 people, but when they tried to alter their reservation like this, the system did not reduce the price.

So I, as the host, refused the change in the hope that we can find a way to alter the reservation and apply the reduced price.

How do we do this please?

Thanks in advance - I would like to avoid either the guest or myself as host having to cancel the booking... and re-booking as this would be complicated and I'm not sure the dates would show as available to re-book!

Ther is a phone number on their reservation. Have them call Airbnb and make the change.
