My name is Octavia. I had a reservation that I made on July 3rd. The next day the 4th it got canceled by the host which was around 1pm. It is 11pm and my issue is still not resolved. I have been getting the run around all day and at this point I am beyond frustrated and tired. Feel free to call me if you have any other questions regarding this matter. I just want to book another stay but because I do not have the funds to book another stay because I'm waiting on a refund. I was told that I would get a gift card if I find a host that would pre approve me. The first ambassador found me a home I got the preapproval and still don't have the home. The homes in Orlando are 80% full to capacity so it's hard getting a home that has the amenities that I had on the previous house. If you look at my past history I always book the same kind of house whether it be a townhome or house it always has a pool. I just don't understand why this process is taking  all day when all I want is a home. I would really appreciate if someone can contact me. Thanks.

@Octavia29  This is a discussion forum for hosts and guests, not Airbnb customer service, so no one here has access to your account or will phone you.

 

It's too bad your host cancelled, but that does occasionally happen and unfortunately Airbnb doesn't just find you a comparable place or refund your money right away.

 

And you know, just because you have always booked a place with a pool, doesn't mean that Airbnb has some obligation to find you a place with a pool. That's a pretty demanding attitude for someone who can't come up with the funds to book another place until they get refunded for the one that was cancelled.

 

 

@Sarah977 if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all if you have not been in my shoes. So please keep your comments to yourself. Why would I give more money and haven't received money from the first reservation. DUMMY!!  I would also update that photo of yourself before you respond to anyone else. 

@Octavia29  I was trying to inform you that if you thought posting here would result in someone calling you, you'd be waiting in vain, as this is not customer service. 

 

And no, it is not "Dummy" to suggest that if you want to be assured of getting a place for the dates you want, you may have to pay again instead of waiting for the refund first.

 

That just happened to me with an airline ticket- the airline cancelled the flight I had booked, they hadn't yet credited me for it, but I had to rebook, paying again, as there was only 3 seats left for the only other flight that would work for me. Had I waited for the refund, which has now been credited back to me, that would have been a dummy move- I would have lost the flight.

 

Was I irritated that the airline canceled the first flight and didn't immediately refund me? And that there was a 3 hour phone wait to talk to their CS agents? Sure I was. But I needed to get to where I was going, and had no choice.

 

And what does my profile photo have to do with anything?
