Am I liable to pay taxes on the income of this rental? How does that work? How strictly is it watched?

You would be better posting your query as a new post rather than tagging it onto someone else's post about a completely different subject, as this can cause confusion and not many will see your question hidden in someone else's thread 🙂 

In answer to your question, we wouldn't know whether you are liable for taxes it depends on your personal situation. But in most countries you would need to declare your income from Airbnb just as you would any income stream. 

In your situation, I would go onto the government site for taxes and see what they advise about how you declare it (for example in the UK we complete a tax return or submit accounts, depending on how we have set up our Airbnb business.
