Hi I am a new host and need some help.

Hi I am a new host and need some help.

I have a guest who wanted to book for 7 nights to get the discount, I agreed to her booking before I realised that it overlapped with another guest (she had added a day that wasnt on the calander yet).

Anyway she is happy to come for 6 nights but would like the discount, which I am happy to give ,but how do I change the amount with airbnb.

They are currerntly asking for more money for 6 night that 7, I tried to give her the special offer but I cant beause it says those nights are booked.....by her!

What can I do?

Hi @Miranda9, as long as you are not being taken for a ride here and will not lose any money then the easiest thing is to leave the payment as it is for the full 7 nights then offer a partial reimbursement through the Resolution Centre. Have a look at https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/165/how-do-i-refund-my-guest which will show you how to do it.

I have a guest who has said he has booked and I supposed to have confirmed.  I have blocked out the time as I'm away. I never confirmed his request. It came through at 19.30 Om and I was asleep.

When I go to change or cancel it his booking his number isn't there. What am I to do???

please help. He says he's coming next week 17/12/16 and I'm away

Hi @Liz128

It's always easier if you have a question to start a new thread rather than posting on someone else's - which leads to confusion as people respond to different questions.

A guest can't have booked, if you have blocked out the time in your calendar and you haven't confirmed a booking request. You say you received a message at 19.30. Just go into this message - decline the request and let the guest know you don't have availability for the dates requested.

It's not clear from your post, whether you have Instant Book turned on. Even if you have, a guest cannot book if you have blocked out the dates.
