Host Support & Advice

https://www.facebook.com/groups/AUSAccommHosts/

I'm a relatively new host on Airbnb and also host on platforms such as Booking.com and from my own website. Setting up a business is a huge learning curve and it occured to me that a Facebook group is a great forum for sharing advice/tips/support etc.. For example, I'm currently reviewing merchant processing facilities and to be able to ask other hosts advice/tips on that would be wonderful, instead of doing my own research alone and potentially missing options that may be better suited to my needs. Please join the group and I look forward to meeting you.

Regards

Kelly

Aren't there already quite a few Australian FB groups for BNB - maybe have a look at those before setting up a new one.

Helen,

I suggest if the idea is of no interest to you, that you don't bother commenting or joining the group. Perhaps educate yourself on the purpose of groups and the right of individuals to create and join them...

@Kelly65

There is absolutely no need to be rude.

Certainly not in the spirit of being a BNB host 😞

As a new host I was trying to give you some helpful advice. It certainly didn't warrant such a reply.

You can open as many FB's groups as you like. My point is that there are already FB groups set up for Australian hosts and if your stated objective was to share and learn from other hosts you would be better joining them rather than setting up your own and having then to put in work to promoting it.

I say this as someone who has twenty years experience heading up communications for national and international organisations including managing social media,  so am basing my advice on having some expertise in this area 🙂

Helen,

As was evident from my justifiable response, you having commented in the manner you did, was rude. It is quite clear that my post, is an "invitation" to join a group I've created. It is NOT a request for advice or opinions, therefore your so called "expertise" is not required. Kindly refrain from continued, irrelevant, rude responses. This is not the purpose of community groups.

For someone with an apparent 20 years of experience, you'd do well to brush up on your social skills and manners!
