Host response rate to guest communication

Host response rate to guest communication

Hello,

I have a question regarding my response time to guest messages.  I have a nagging feeling that I must be the one to end all communication with the guest, or always have the lasd words, even though the guest will sometimes end the conversation with a Thank You, Take Care, etc.

I am afraid my response rating will drop if I don't respond to these with another Thank You too, or something similar.  The guest has ended the conversation at this point, so I would rather not respond again and seem like I must have the last word in every scenario.

Do any seasoned hosts know if I can just let the conversation end naturally if the guest seems to be the one to end it?

Thanks

It's the first response that counts so you can relax more.

Thank you Nicky and Julian!

You need to send a pre-approval or decline an inquiry even if they end the conversation or don't respond. It sometimes make sense but that is how it works. If you don't, your calendar can be blocked.
