Hosting help

I had to cancel one guest as somehow the instant book feature was on, unknown to me. I contacted the guest immediately to let her know I unfortunately had to cancel her booking as I was hibernating the booking for 6 months. This was done well in advance of her booking so had very little impact on her and she accepted my explanation. This is not reflecting well on my host status which I feel is unfair - how can this be reviewed?

I have recently reactivated the listing and it is not appearing on the airbnb search site? What am I doing wrong? I have checked all the obvious.

I would appreciate the help.

Hello @Missy17,

You should contact Airbnb support regarding the cancellation. As you say that you had instant book on at the time they may remove the penalties that they applied when you cancelled.

Your listing is now showing up. I did a search for "Entire home /apt" accommodation for the 1st to the 2nd of November and your listing showed up.

As yours is now not an instant book listing make sure that you have that filter turned off when you search.

Airbnb sometimes turns it on by default in searches so you may have to manually turn it off. They often turn it on if the searched for dates are in the near future or if there are lots of listings in the area.

Thanks so much Steve. I have often had to turn off the instant booking which is annoying because it really doesnt suit me! How do I contact Airbnb support? I seem to go round in circles!

Hello @Missy17,

Click on "Help" and then on "Visit the Help Centre" and then on the "Contact us" button near the end of the page.

That should show a page with phone and message links for Airbnb support.

You can also type "contact airbnb" in the "Search the Community" box on these forum pages where you posted your question. Scroll down a little in the list of suggestions that appears as  you type. click on the "Contact Airbnb: A Community Help Guide" one. It has phone numbers and information on contacting them via Twitter or Facebook.
